Homestead – GRAND AM Rolex Series
May 4th, 2012 by Jack HigginbothamThis past weekend (April 28th) the Grand-Am Rolex series ran at Homestead in torrential rains, and we fired up Laps For Life 2012.
In Miami, Wayne Taylor’s SunTrust Racing Team with Max Angellelli and Ricky Taylor driving took the DP win with Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas in second. David Donahue and Darren Law took the last podium position.
In GT, the AIM Autosport Ferrari had their first win with the new Italia 458 while Team Sahlen was second with their RX8 and the Stevenson Motorsports Camaro was third. We are looking forward to the New Jersey Motorsports May 12-13 whlre we will catch up with the teams and fans.
While the rain was pouring in Florida over the weekend, intermittent rain and sleet showers were on tap Saturday at the NASA Mid-Atlantic event at Summit Point. We were able to get Laps For Life kick started for the 2012 Hyperfest Event with the proceeds going to Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center. As in years past, Hyperfest event drivers will raise pledges based on how many laps they complete in the Saturday race. The driver that raises the most money will receive a PRS Starla autographed by many of the past winners of the 24 Hours of Daytona Rolex event. To either make a pledge for a driver or to make a general contribution, click the Laps For Life button above.
If you make it to the NJ race, drop by the Grand-Am fan zone to check out the PRS SE trophy guitar which is available exclusively through Guitar Center.
